Share your Summer Snapshots and show us how you spent the season with FRRPD!

Whether it’s a quiet moment in a shaded park, a splashy day at the pool, a snapshot from one of our exciting programs, or the joy of a fun-filled community event, we’re looking for photos that capture the beauty, energy, and spirit of the Feather River Recreation and Park District all summer long.

Contest Dates

• Submissions Open: Monday, June 2, 2025
• Submission Deadline: Friday, August 8, 2025, by 5:00 PM
• Winners Announced: Friday, August 15, 2025

Reminder: Only photos taken in FRRPD parks, facilities, or during FRRPD-sponsored programs or events are eligible. Photos taken in State or City parks (such as Forebay Aquatic Center or Lake Oroville) do not qualify.

Who Can Enter

• Open to individuals 18 years or older prior to or on the last day a photo can be submitted (August 8, 2025).
• Participants must be the original creators of the photos and own full legal rights to each image.
• FRRPD employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

Awards & Recognition

The top 3 photographs will receive District Gift Certificates as follows:

• $100 Best of Show (Overall Best Photo)
• $ 75 Best of Category “Parks & Facilities” (Photos highlighting the beauty of FRRPD parks, landscapes,  and facilities)
• $ 75 Best of Category “Recreation & Leisure” (Photos capturing people enjoying FRRPD programs, sports, events, and activities)

Winning photos will be featured in the Fall/Winter 2025 FRRPD Activity Guide, FRRPD’s monthly e-newsletter, and in an online Top 20 Photo Gallery on the FRRPD website.

In addition to the top three winners, 17 runner-up photos will also be selected and included in the online gallery, recognizing both the photographers and their work as part of the district-wide showcase.

Submission Guidelines

To ensure your entry is eligible, please follow these guidelines:

• You may submit up to three (3) original photos.
• All photos must be taken in FRRPD parks, facilities, or at FRRPD-sponsored events. Photos taken in State or City parks (such as Forebay Aquatic Center or Lake Oroville) do not qualify.
• Photos must be in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format, 5 MB or smaller, and at least 300 DPI. (HEIC and PDF files will not be accepted.)
• Each photo must include a brief caption with the location where the photo was taken and the date.
• File names must follow this format:
  LastName_FirstName_01_Title_Date_Location.jpg
  Example: Smith_John_01_Sunset_07_12_2025_RiverbendPark.jpg

Note: Make sure your captions match your file names. Incorrectly labeled or incomplete entries may be disqualified.

Judging & Public Voting

Initial judging will be conducted by FRRPD staff. Members of the Districts marketing team will narrow entries to the top 10 submissions in each category. The public will be invited to vote on the Top 10 photos in each category. Photos and online voting will be posted online at the District Website and social media.

Rights & Permissions

By entering this contest, participants grant the Feather River Recreation and Park District a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use submitted photographs in FRRPD publications, marketing materials, and digital platforms. Participants retain ownership of their original work. Any submissions that violate copyright laws or feature non-FRRPD locations will be disqualified.

IMPORTANT: This is a digital-only photo contest. All entries must be submitted through our official online form on our website. Submissions sent by email, flash drive, or in printed form will not be accepted.

Please note: FRRPD is not responsible for any data loss or file misplacement during the upload process. We strongly recommend backing up your files before submitting your entry.

Entry deadline:
