About Memorials

The Feather River Recreation and Park District understands that memorials are an important part of our community. Memorials provide a meaningful way to honor a loved one, celebrate a special occasion, or create a lasting tribute. FRRPD offers memorial opportunities in select District parks, with each request reviewed to ensure it complements the park’s plans, function, operations, and aesthetic needs.

Memorial Process

Any community member desiring to place a memorial in a District park must follow the guidelines and process as lined out in the District Memorial Guidelines and Application packet below.

1. Submit Your Request

Complete the District Memorial Guidelines and Application packet and submit your request to the District Office.

2. Meet With District Staff

The Executive Assistant will schedule a meeting to discuss your memorial request, including the proposed location and type of memorial.

3. Review & Approval

The request will then be presented to the General Manager and Park & Recreation Committee of the Board of Directors for approval or denial. The Committee is responsible for making sure that special requests are consistent with park plans, function, operations, and current aesthetic needs. 

4. Installation

Once approved, the memorial installation process can move forward. Patrons will pay a fee to the District for installation which will be determined on the size and type of memorial.
