A Community Conversation 

We are excited to invite you to a community conversation focused on enhancing our local parks and trails through District sponsored Park Watch ProgramsAdopt-a-Park Programs, and Adopt-a Trail-Programs.

This “community conversation” event aims to bring community members together for a discussion on working together to foster community safety, security, and pride.

Community conversation event on June 26, 2025, from 6-7pm at Oroville Convention Center about park and trail programs.

Event Details:

  • Date: Thursday, June 26
  • Time:  6:00p-7:00p
  • Location: Oroville Convention Center – 1200 Myers Street

Agenda:

  1. Park Watch Program: Learn about how you can help monitor and protect our parks.
  2. First Steps
  3. Recruitment/Scheduling of community individuals/groups to “be present” in our parks.
    1. Participate: Be present in one of the core area parks 1x/week for 1 hr. 
    2. Document: Take notes/take pictures
    3. Report: Promote/celebrate positive activities/experiences in our parksShare your observations of undesired activities and/or concerns with District staff.

  • Community Safety: Strategies to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Community Security: Measures to enhance the security of our shared spaces.
  • Community Pride: Initiatives to foster a sense of pride and ownership in our community.
